Queen Rania Reviews Preparations for Amman Design Week and Meets with a Number of Entrepreneurs

Al-Taj News – Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah visited Jabal Al Lweibdeh in Amman on Tuesday and met with a number of entrepreneurs and Jordanian startups, while also reviewing preparations for the launch of Amman Design Week 2026.

During the meeting, Her Majesty spoke with a number of young entrepreneurs within the “Builder Space” network about their experiences in establishing their projects and developing their businesses, as well as the challenges and opportunities facing startups in Jordan, in addition to changes in workplace culture in Jordan and the transition from traditional offices to coworking spaces.

Ahead of the launch of Amman Design Week 2026, Her Majesty visited “Dar Abu Adnan,” one of the few heritage houses still standing in the Jabal Al Lweibdeh area. It was built as a home for the Abu Hassan family in the 1950s and is considered a distinctive example of the modern architectural style in Amman at the time. This year, it is hosting part of the events of Amman Design Week after being renovated once again.

Her Majesty met at the house with the Amman Design Week team and reviewed part of the preparations for its launch. She also viewed the production and installation of two exhibits in the front garden of the house, along with a number of completed exhibits by designers participating in this year’s edition. She also visited a textile workshop and met with a number of its participants.

Amman Design Week, which was launched in 2016 at the initiative of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, returns for its fourth edition under the theme “Accumulations” from October 2 to 17, 2026. The week’s events will be distributed across four areas: Ras Al Ain, Jabal Al Lweibdeh, Iraq Al Amir, and Aqaba Governorate, while the Ras Al Ain Hangar in Amman will serve as the main venue for the week.
